Thanks, Grace, for your insight on this one. An ethical lawyer with a thriving practice cannot afford to milk the clients as if they were dairy goats. The kind of lawyers the BOT has been using will be delighted to shove their piggish snouts as far into the College’s endowment trough as possible. Once again, shame on the BOT for their mismanagement, naivete, and dereliction of duty.

The BOT does not seem to have the street smarts to see the need for leashes on the current officers of the College.

The ambiguous phrase “some people” was intended to refer to the BOT and administration, and only tangentially to the students. Indeed, some of the people on the BOT and in the administration are crazier than the students. Only about 8% of the student body showed up for the Gibson protests. The Black Lives Matter people disappeared rather quickly, apparently realizing that this was very much the wrong battle to be fighting. The bulk of the students were more mature than the BOT.

I respectfully disagree. Perhaps the student behavior is somewhat mitigated by naivete.

However, the administration’s response appears to have been fueled by unrepentant arrogance.
